In 2012, LYS established the "No Man is an Island" Award to honor an outstanding delegate alumnus who exemplifies the ideals of LYS.
Kaitlyn Bradford Joshua, the 2025 No Man Is An Island Award recipient, is a dynamic community organizer, environmental justice advocate, and faith-based leader working at the intersection of policy, equity, and people. Kaitlyn attended LYS as a delegate in 2008 and 2009 from Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge.
A proud Louisiana native, Kaitlyn has spent her career amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities and challenging the systems that perpetuate injustice.
Kaitlyn currently serves as a Louisiana Gulf Coast Campaigner for Earthworks, where she advocates for environmental and climate justice in frontline communities. In 2024, she co-launched Abortion In America, a national storytelling initiative focused on reproductive justice. She also recently joined LSU Football Operations as an Assistant Recruiter, bringing her leadership and coordination skills to the world of collegiate athletics.
Previously, Kaitlyn spent four years as a Faith Organizer with the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice, mobilizing congregations across the state to engage in civic participation and grassroots advocacy. Her organizing work began with Step Up Louisiana, where she led statewide efforts around education equity and workers’ rights.
Kaitlyn is a graduate of Southern University, where she earned a degree in biology with a minor in Spanish.
She now resides in her hometown with her husband, Landon Joshua, and their daughter, Lauryn. For Kaitlyn, leadership is an act of faith—and her unwavering commitment to justice, community, and transformation continues to inspire those around her.
