Meet our current staff members here

Louisiana Youth Seminar is organized, staffed and directed by young professionals and college students who volunteer their time every summer. Each staff member has participated in LYS as a student delegate and therefore understands the inner workings of the program. The staff is young, positive, and progressive and can easily identify with the hopes, feelings and trends of Louisiana's youth.

The LYS staff is representative of the LYS delegation from the standpoint of high school affiliation, geographical composition, gender, ethnicity, personality style and other diversity components.  Staff represent the hands, heart and soul of the LYS experience the third week in July. Staff have the responsibility to deliver a quality LYS Program to the 300 high school students attending LYS.

Program Director Glynn Gross is from Geismar, LA and attended and graduated from Dutchtown High School. She went on to graduate from Southeastern with an undergraduate degree in social work followed by a Master’s in social work from LSU. She is currently a special needs counselor in Ascension Parish Schools. To Glynn, the LYS motto “No Man Is An Island” means community. She says, “in my eyes No Man Is An Island gives me people to lean on and turn to no matter the circumstances.” She is proud to be serving this year as your PD!
